Tim’s First No-Hitter

March 18, 2009 by Mike Snyder | No Comment(s) | Post a Comment

Our little Timmy pitched a no-hitter yesterday, a first for San Marcos High School! From the North County Times:

San Marcos High left-hander Tim Berry pitched his first career no-hitter on Tuesday, blanking Calexcio 5-0 in the Pirate-Falcon Classic. The senior, who will pitch for Oregon next year, struck out 17 and walked three. The no-hitter came one week after an 11-0 shutout in which he threw a six-inning one-hitter with 12 strikeouts.

“I just try to go out there and get the win,” Berry said. “The difference today over last week was my defense played stellar and my catcher, Nick Berkelo, played amazing. He was phenomenal.

“Things are feeling good. I’ve got great confidence in myself and the team. I think our team is coming along really well. I just feel like I could go out there and attack hitters and we are going to make the play. I’ve been working hard toward this season, and it’s starting to pay off.”

Knights coach Jeff Dufek said Berry is overpowering hitters. “He just has really dominant stuff right now,” Dufek said. “He kind of felt it toward the middle of the game and just didn’t let up.

Success for Prop 2

November 5, 2008 by Karen Snyder | No Comment(s) | Post a Comment

I am so fulfilled and proud to have worked for one year helping Prop 2 pass in California. Nothing feels more humanistic and peaceful than reaching outside of my own self to help other creatures on this earth that live beside me, God’s other loved ones. We have vast power over animals, and with such power comes great responsibility. We can choose to be kind and merciful or cruel and abusive. Kindness and mercy are values that exemplify the best of the human spirit. Millions of Americans love animals, but many creatures still suffer, especially farm animals in factory farms that the public cannot see.

Prop 2 has passed here in California by an overwhelming amount of kind American’s votes! We as people have showed our compassion, mercy, and stewardship in relieving 20 million animals from horrific suffering in CA factory farms.

Today I love California. Today I love to call myself an American. Today the first step has been taken in a massive movement to END factory farming across our nation and our world. We will continue our fight until all factory farming is no more! Bring back small, eco-friendly, humane, family farms! Let’s all cut back on meat intake and so we don’t have to injure as many animals and our environment with their waste! Eat vegetarian a few days a week and you will help more than you ever could imagine!

Ryan had his sleep-over at Aunt Karen’s house after his and Ben’s Pop Warner football game. (Golden Falcons won 800-Nothing, or something like that.)
